In the informative story, “Getting Picked” by Seth Godin, he brings up a lot of topics about choosing your own path in life and not letting anything or anyone get in the way of it. He talks about how Marc Maron had auditioned for SNL but did not get the part. This didn’t stop him. Instead he created a podcast which is now very successful and makes him happy. Although life hits you with these major tragedies and hardships, it does not mean the end of the world. Opportunities are given to people all over the world at randoms times, and one little misstep is not going to change the whole world. You must persist and keep pushing forward in order to run into those extra opportunities.
